Kuala Lumpur: Uinah, a ginger beer proudly handcrafted in Sabah, is making its debut at the upcoming MATTA Fair which will be held at the Putra World Trade Centre from 6-8 September 2019.
Uinah (Sabahan slang for 'wow!') is made using only the spiciest gingers found in the rural parts of Sabah and undergoes a short natural fermentation process which results in a deliciously spicy Shandy-like beverage.
Uinah which was founded by best friends James Wong Kein Peng (an architect) and Matthias Liew Yi Lih (a professional diver) less than a year ago has already seen an immense amount of interest both locally and abroad.
"Besides being a great thirst quencher, Uinah has other beneficial health properties; it helps improve blood circulation, stimulates the digestive system, helps ease nausea and helps beef up the immune system", said Co-founder Matthias Liew.
"There is no aritifical flavoring or chemicals - everything that goes into Uinah is real ginger, real fruit, as we ensure only the best quality ingredients in our beverages", he added.
Visitors to the fair can get a free taste of this spicily refreshing beverage at the Sabah Tourism pavilion in Hall 5 on all three days of the MATTA Fair.
Uinah will be on sale at various cafes and restaurants in Kuala Lumpur and Penang from September onwards. Uinah can also be purchased online at www.strine.wine - a list of outlets stocking Uinah can also be found there.
